Steven Moffat has spoken in DWM 482 about how he found it hard to forget how to write 'the Matt Doctor' and how his most challenging aspect of Series 8 was introducing Peter Capaldi's Doctor.
He says: "Creating a new doctor - or rather, helping Peter to" was his most challenging aspect of the 2014 series and that "trying to forget how to write the Matt Doctor - who was welded into my brain, and still lives there, making endless cups of tea, and forgetting to drink them because he saw a shiny thing - and embrace a whole new version of the character (Capaldi's Doctor). Oh. That's challenging. And exciting, of course. But 'excitement' is what what we call 'fear', once we've survived it."
